Free Organic Gardening Seminar Offered to OKC Residents

Gardening has become an interest among many people because it allows them to grow their own food and maintain the quality of food they put on their table. With organic gardening, many homes are able to produce healthier food without having to spend much.

To better promote organic gardening and to accommodate questions on how such gardening procedure works, the OSU-OKC Farmer’s Market will be offering a free organic gardening seminar to anyone who is interested. Participants need not have their own organic garden. Anyone who wants to know more about organic gardening or how to create a garden at home can come and join the seminar.

The Organic Gardening for Spring and Fall Seminar will be on Saturday, February 16, at 9:00 a.m. It will be held at the Agriculture Resources Center of OSU, located at 400 N. Portland Ave. The seminar will be free, but with limited seating. Those who want to participate can sign up for reservations in advance, which is encouraged because seats at the last seminar filled up completely.

Robert Stelle of Sunrise Acres Farm will be the speaker at the seminar.  He has been a vendor at the Farmers Market for many years, and because of his knowledge of organic gardening, customers regularly ask him for tips and advice.
