New Clubhouse Set for Lincoln Park Golf Course

A new clubhouse is planned to be built on Lincoln Park Golf Course and is slated to open by Summer 2014.  It will be replacing an existing old building, and resident golfers and walk-in players will be able to enjoy a variety of amenities.

Known as one of the oldest operating golf courses in the country, Lincoln Park Golf Course has been serving golf players and enthusiasts for over 90 years. The golf course was built in 1922 along NE Grand Blvd., and due to its popularity and continual support from its patrons, the golf course has been deemed one the best places to play golf in the state.

To better accommodate its members, the golf course has hired LWPB Architecture to design the 32,000 square-foot clubhouse. The two-story building will feature different conveniences that will enhance the experience of each player. There will be a café, a large banquet room, meeting spaces, and a full-service golf shop on the first floor, while the second floor will feature more dining and meeting spaces and an outdoor roof terrace overlooking the course.

The budget for the project is an estimated $9 million. Of that, $2 million is being taken from the General Obligation Bond funds, while the remaining $7 million is from revenue bonds. Investments will be repaid using the golf system revenue.
