OKC Police Department Hosting Annual Drawings for Waterfowl Hunting

August 22, 2013

One of the much-awaited times of the year for hunters is waterfowl season.  In anticipation of its arrival, hunters are preparing their gear, scouting out the perfect spots to chase waterfowl, and lining up their hunting permits.

In preparation of waterfowl season, the Oklahoma City Police Department is again hosting the annual drawing for spots at Lake Overholser and Lake Draper. Hunters can participate in the drawings for duck blinds and securing their hunting permits.

The drawings for the duck blinds will be held on September 11th at 8:00 p.m. at the Lake Overholser Pavilion and September 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Lake Marina. Hunters can participate in the drawings and also learn more about the regulations that govern the city’s waterfowl hunting. Each site will have a copy of the hunting regulations and the locations for duck blind sites. Those who want to join the drawings must be 18 years or older and must have a current Oklahoma City hunting permit and Oklahoma State hunting license.

Hunters who still do not have a permit can secure one prior to the drawings. City permits are available during the drawing dates at a cost of $3/day or $12.50/year. No refunds are allowed.
