OKC Senior Citizens Invited to Free Senior Health Fair

As you age, maintaining good health is incredibly important. For senior citizens, proper diet, exercise, and an overall healthy lifestyle contribute to a lengthier, happier life. In order to support senior citizens in Oklahoma City with practicing a healthier way of life, a free senior health fair will be happening at the Woodson Senior Activity Center this week.

The OKC Parks and Recreation Department has created a new program for senior citizens in OKC called the Step Into Wellness program. It is an awareness effort that offers senior citizens more opportunities to develop a healthier lifestyle through exercise classes and seminars on how to make healthier and more cost-effective choices when grocery shopping. The program is a partnership between the city, Buy For Less grocery stores, and the University of Central Oklahoma.

The upcoming senior health fair will feature lots of vendors, including  Green Acres Market, The Boathouse District, the Oklahoma City-County Health Department, Walgreens, and the Areawide Aging Agency.  Visitors can learn more about exercise, nutrition, elder care, and more by visiting with experts at the booths.  There will also be snacks and a chair massage.

The Free Senior Health Fair will be this Thursday, April 23, from 1pm to 4pm at the Woodson Senior Activity Center.
