Homeless Military Veterans Granted Opportunity for Permanent Homes

Military veterans play a significant part in protecting the country in offering their lives and service during times of war in order to safeguard the country and its people. However, for surviving veterans, life has not always been a bed of roses.

Many military veterans have found themselves homeless and lost from their families. Instead of celebrating life after their service, they end up without a home or anyone to care for them.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, in partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs, has granted funds to help support those military veterans who have become homeless. The Department granted almost $365,000 in the state of Oklahoma to help veterans find more permanent housing.

Cities that will be sharing the grant includes Muskogee, Tulsa and Oklahoma City, along with the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency. HUD will provide rental assistance while VA will offer case management and clinical services.
