New Ramp Will Soon Offer Direct Access to 10th Street in Downtown Oklahoma City

It can be difficult to maneuver around a city where there are a lot of confusing twists and turns you must take to get to your destination. Drivers wishing to go to 10th Street in Downtown Oklahoma City will soon be in luck, however, because a new exit ramp creating a shortcut to the area will soon be open for use. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is in the process of building a new exit ramp connecting northbound I-235 to N.W. 10th St.

According to ODOT, the new ramp will make it easier for cars to go directly to 10th St. without having to pass through a lot of others. Using the current route, cars driving  north on I-235 must exit on Harrison Ave., then take 6th St. to Broadway, and take Broadway all the way up to 10th Street. The new ramp will be replacing a part of the Walnut Ave.

Businesses surrounding the proposed location of the new ramp are in favor of it. They say that it will make it easier for their customers to reach their stores. The overall project is expected to be completed by fall of this year. The total cost will be $3.5 million.
