Oklahoma City Indian Clinic Hosting Walk for Wellness on Saturday

Better health and well-being is important to keep us active, strong, and away from certain illnesses. Unfortunately, many people do not understand or prioritize the value of being healthy. Instead, they live a sedentary lifestyle and make poor food choices, thus increasing their risk of illnesses.

To promote health and wellness in Oklahoma City, especially among the Native American population, the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic will be hosting a free health fair and walk this coming Saturday. It will be an open event for everyone, and Native Americans are highly encouraged to attend.

The Walk for Wellness will feature a one-mile fun walk to promote awareness on the benefits of walking and physical fitness. Walking and exercising can help reduce certain diseases and health issues, including heart attacks and diabetes. By walking and caring for your physical body, you reduce your risk of developing preventable diseases.

The event will also include a health fair that will offer several services from the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic. The clinic is a nonprofit organization that aims to provide better health care to American Indians in the Oklahoma City area. Services include family programs, dental, pediatric, optometry, medical, physical fitness, and behavioral healthcare.
